 MODELING

# Mathematical modeling

Souxmar develops mathematical models of dynamic systems for engineering analysis, control development and real-time simulation. We translate the physical behavior of aircraft, vessels, rail vehicles and their subsystems into executable models with documented assumptions and parameters.

For engineering teams, equipment developers and simulator integrators that need a usable plant model, a parameter study or a model that can run within an existing simulation environment.

## Flight dynamics and aircraft systems modeling

Aircraft models represent rigid-body motion, aerodynamic forces and moments, propulsion, flight control actuator dynamics and selected onboard systems. The degrees of freedom, aerodynamic data and subsystem fidelity are selected for the aircraft type, flight envelope and intended engineering or training use. Model assumptions and input data are documented.

## Ship maneuvering and marine systems modeling

Marine models represent vessel motion, hydrodynamic forces and moments, propulsion, steering and environmental loads. Propulsion and onboard power system models can support subsystem analysis and simulator integration. Model boundaries and degrees of freedom are selected for the vessel type, operating conditions and intended use.

## Longitudinal train dynamics and subsystem analysis

Rail applications can include longitudinal train dynamics, traction and braking behavior, resistance, gradient effects, auxiliary systems and energy consumption over a defined duty cycle. Parameter studies examine the influence of vehicle loading, route profiles and operating conditions. Vehicle-body and suspension studies are scoped around the required model fidelity and available component data.

## System identification and model validation

We use supplied measurements, manufacturer data or agreed reference models to estimate model parameters. Implementation verification checks equations, units, interfaces and numerical behavior against the model specification. Validation compares model predictions with suitable reference data for the intended use and operating envelope. Calibration and sensitivity analysis help identify influential parameters; missing data and unvalidated operating conditions are documented.

## Models for integration and digital twins

Models can be implemented in MATLAB/Simulink, Python or C++ and prepared for co-simulation or real-time execution. Digital twin work connects a defined system model to supplied operational or test data, with an agreed update method and engineering purpose. A standalone 3D visualization is not treated as a data-connected digital twin.

## Starting your project

Share the system definition, intended use, operating envelope and available drawings or datasets. Include sampling rates, signal definitions and known uncertainty for measured data. We agree on model boundaries, fidelity and acceptance criteria before development.

## What you receive

- Executable model and defined input/output interfaces
- Parameter set, units, coordinate frames and assumptions
- Reference cases and validation comparisons
- Sensitivity or parameter-study results where required
- Integration examples and technical documentation

Deliverables, source-code handover, hardware scope and acceptance criteria are defined in the project agreement.

## Project questions

### Can a project start with only one subsystem?

Yes. The initial scope can be a propulsion unit, actuator, energy subsystem or another bounded plant model, with interfaces defined for later integration.

### What if we do not have enough validation data?

We identify the evidence that is available and separate verified behavior from assumptions. Additional measurements or a narrower operating envelope may be needed before a model is suitable for its intended use.
