TRAIN DRIVER TRAINING

Train driver training simulators

Souxmar develops train driver training simulator software and integration components. Longitudinal train dynamics, onboard-system models, cab interfaces, route environments and instructor tools support driving skills and operational procedure training.

For railway operators, training centers, rolling stock manufacturers and simulator integrators developing desktop trainers, cab-based training environments or individual simulator modules.

Discuss your requirements

Longitudinal train dynamics and cab procedures

Training models can represent traction, braking, vehicle loading, gradients and selected onboard systems. Cab displays and control responses are connected to the simulation state. Exercises can cover preparation, departure, station stops, speed management, energy-aware driving and customer-defined degraded-operation procedures for locomotives, trainsets, metro or tram vehicles.

Route environments and simulator integration

Unreal Engine visual environments can represent routes, stations, trackside infrastructure, weather and visibility. Route geometry, signaling behavior and operational rules are defined from customer-supplied information for the intended training task. Software instruments can be integrated with physical cab controls, displays and other devices, with agreed timing, synchronization and latency requirements.

Instructor tools, assessment and debriefing

An instructor operating station can select routes and exercises, set initial conditions and introduce agreed equipment faults or scenario events. Session recording and synchronized replay support review of trainee actions. Assessment can compare speed adherence, stopping position, procedure completion and responses to scenario events against criteria agreed with the training team.

Starting your project

Identify the vehicle type, trainee roles, learning objectives and procedures to represent. Supply available vehicle data, route information, cab layouts and hardware requirements. We agree on model fidelity, scenario scope, assessment criteria and any training-approval requirements before development.

Project questions

Can we start with a desktop trainer?

Yes. The initial scope can use software cab controls and a selected route or procedure. Physical cab equipment, additional scenarios and instructor functions can be added through defined integration stages.

Can you connect existing cab hardware?

Yes. We first review device documentation, signal definitions, communication interfaces and timing requirements. Hardware supply, modification and installation are agreed within the project scope.

Can the simulator be used for approved training?

The intended training use and applicable operator or authority requirements determine the evidence and acceptance process needed. Training approval is a separate project requirement and is not implied by the software or visual environment alone.
